Pinot Noir - Russian River Valley - Bacigalupi

2005 D'Argenzio

Pinot Noir - Russian River Valley - Bacigalupi Vineyard

Tasting Notes

Bright ruby in color, this Pinot Noir shows great finesse. Delicate strawberry and cherry blossom aromas are lifted by light spice and cedar notes. The elegant approach carries forward to the palate, with intriguing layers that fuse seamlessly. Radiant crushed cherry and wild strawberry are accented with hints of clove, soy and creamy mocha. A beautifully balanced wine in an earthy, Burgundian style that displays the exceptional character of the Bacigalupi fruit. The climate of the Russian River Valley is ideal for growing world-class Pinot Noir grapes. The Bacigalupi Vineyard is situated along Westside Road, south of the town of Healdsburg, where foggy mornings provide a blanket of protection to the vineyards. Cool springs and moderate summer warmth allow for optimal development of Pinot Noir flavors. Clones: 30% Old Wente Clone, 70% Pommard Clone.
Lightly filtered and unfined.
