2008 D’Argenzio
D’Alfonso Super Tuscan, Sonoma County
Tasting Notes
A blend of the Tuscan Sangiovese with the French varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah, this wine provides the subtle characteristics of Sangiovese with the stronger backbone of the French Grapes. Aged in Italian Oak Barrels for 18 months, this wine shows aromas of dark fruit, cardamom and eucalyptus with spicy oak and cassis. The ripe berry flavors and deep purple color show through from the Petite Sirah create a nice balance for this wine. The finish is long with subtle tannin and cut flowers.
